Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Network Security Engineer to be based at their Whitechapel, London office.
Candidates will be expected to assist the IT Operations Manager to maintain the operation and security of the company's networking infrastructure, servers, communication services and end user systems.
Essential Skills
• Advanced knowledge of network architecture and configuration of routers, firewalls and switches, ideally to CCNA level (or equivalent level of experience).
• Aruba / HP / Brocade Switch configuration and management.
• Experience of working with either Cisco, Sophos, Fortinet, Palo Alto firewalls
• Remote access and VPN technologies.
• Experience of cyber security tools and data loss prevention methods
• Experience of installation and configuration of modern SIEM solutions with hands on experience of log aggregation and elastic search
• Creating network diagrams and support documentation
• Good understanding of general security principles.
• Pro-active, collaborative team member
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Network Security engineer or equivelant
Desirable Skills
• Knowledge of telephony systems and technologies (e.g. SIP trunks, 3CX PBX).
• Knowledge of configuration management and orchestration tools such as Puppet, SaltStack.
• Understanding of Video Conferencing technologies such as Cisco, Polycom, Teams
• Hands on Experience with scripting languages, e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell etc.
• Knowledge of group policy design and administration.
• Knowledge of virtual desktop infrastructure RDS, Citrix, VMware Horizon, Parallels, etc.
• Understanding of Linux and Microsoft server technologies
