My client is looking for an IT Technical Support (under the direction and guidance of the IT Director) to work in Canwell, Birmingham.

The sucessful candidate will:

  • Provide technical support for all PC/Apple hardware, software, and associated peripherals
  • Be available for 1st line support calls on our Helpdesk and document their outcome in our call logging system
  • Install and configure systems and software to agreed corporate standard using imaging software
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks by performing upgrades, new installations and carrying out routine procedures
  • Talk employees through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues with the aim of self-help
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware/software faults
  • Replace parts or repair a fault as required
  • Database integrity management
  • Support the roll out of new applications
  • Assist in the compilation and maintenance of an accurate inventory of hardware assets and software
  • Replacement/upgrade of mobile phones
  • Test and evaluate new technology in line with the businesses long term IT objectives

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Relevant degree or industry qualification
  • Knowledge of office equipment and IT packages
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Office, Teams, SharePoint, inTune), Wildix IP Telephony, MaaS360 MDM, Site to Site VPNs (MPLS), PaperCut, Cloud Data Storage and Imaging PCs/Laptops and Exposure to ISO 270001 and CyberEssentials Plus.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills and interpersonal capabilities
  • Ability to use own initiative
